As I recently mentioned, Charlie Waters has made an amazing soundtrack for That’s Beautiful Frank. A good part of the score is made of tracks from the Gold Sparkle Brass Band. The Gold Sparkle brand is a strong one, so have a listen to the mighty trio’s hard bop.

Howdy again folks from your friends here at That’s Beautiful Frank. We are very excited with our brand new score from maestro Charlie Waters. I wanted to let you all know he’s been added to our crew page and pretty soon we will have an all new trailer for you to enjoy.

The tunes he’s made for us are pretty incredible, as are the contributions from his Gold Sparkle Brass Band, so I promise we will have some seriously killer media to share with you very soon.

Charlie has quite the reputation in this city, having performed with William Parker’s Little Huey Music Orchestra, Matthew Shipp, Akron/Family, and Chris Jonas’ Brooklyn Comprovisers Orchestra. He’s an accomplished wood winds player and recieved his training from Eugene Kavadlo of the Charlotte Symphony.

You’ll get a chance to hear some things soon, but for now watch him rip with the Akron/Family:

As we begin the summer of Frank, I just wanted to let you guys know that this film is coming soon.  The minute I have any dates for screenings I will let you know right here, the first of which will probably happen in NYC this summer. We also have some brand new content including more pictures, more bios, more videos, behind the scenes confessionals, more manifestos, basically just more of everything.

So to tide you over here is a clip from ‘Coffee and Cigarettes’ featuring  Bill Rice along side his long time colleague Taylor Mead directed by Jim Jarmusch.

We are really happy to kick off this site and share with you some fun glimpses of our new Futurist-comedy-thriller ‘That’s Beautiful Frank.’ You can find a description of the film here and for the shorter explanation take a look at our teaser trailer.

Pretty soon we will have more video clips  for you to sink your fanged eyes into, so please keep checking back for more.

On this blog we will keep you up to date on screenings, events, and festivals along with breaking news from our cast and the Futurist art scene.  If anything pops in your head feel free to give us a shout, and with your permission we would love to add you to our mailing list of upcoming events. Make sure to look for us on facebook, and if you happen to be a user of YouTube or Vimeo we’d love to meet and greet you there as well.

I will leave you with the disclaimer written by the editors of the French paper Le Figaro that prefaced the  publication of Marinetti’s Futurist Manifesto in 1909:

“Mr Marinetti, the young Italian and French poet, a remarkable, hot-blooded talent known throughout the Latin countries by virtue of his resounding public appearances . . . is solely responsible for the ideas [expressed in the manifesto], which are singularly audacious and exaggerated to the point of being unjust to certain eminently respectable and – fortunately – generally respected matters. However, we thought it interesting to offer our readers the first edition of this publication, whatever opinion they may form of it.”
